Job Summary
The Investigator is responsible for conducting moderately complex investigations of complaints filed with the agency, ensuring the enforcement of agency statutes and rules statewide. The role involves interviewing complainants, witnesses, and respondents to gather pertinent facts; analyzing factual and legal information; and preparing detailed written reports. The Investigator assists prosecutors in case preparations and may testify in administrative hearings. The position requires some travel (up to 25%) and may involve hazardous working conditions. The Investigator works under the general supervision of the Lead Investigator and has moderate latitude for independent judgment. Essential Duties: - Develop investigative plans and complete investigations within assigned timeframes. - Conduct in-person and telephone interviews, identifying indicators of human trafficking. - Collect and maintain evidence and conduct internet research. - Assist attorneys in reviewing investigations and prepare testimony for hearings. - Pursue proactive enforcement activities to discover violations of the law.
