The General Transportation Tech I performs routine transportation operations and maintenance support work, including roadway maintenance, light and heavy equipment operation, and traffic control. This role requires contact with private entities and allows for independent work on assignments. Essential duties include assisting with traffic control, maintaining highways and rights-of-way, and performing preventive maintenance on equipment. The candidate may also operate complex heavy equipment and assist the public during emergency situations.
